The daughter we've long hoped for came to us on Wednesday. Thankfully, it was one of the easiest childbirths I've ever heard of. Becca pushed for all of 3 minutes and it was done. It's funny, throughout pregnancy I always worry about the child being okay. But when it's time for her to deliver, I fear for Becca, a lot. I think of the stories of women who die in childbirth and the thought overwhelms me. We've been married for almost 7 years, and I still love her . . . a lot. Hopefully she shall continue to requite me.
Maurie Ann Hartman was born Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at about 6:28 PM in Provo, Utah. She weighed 8 lbs and 13 oz and measured 19 inches long. Short and chunky; just like we like them. I think she inherited her mother's good looks, but honestly I'd be happier if she gets only Becca's personality.
